Our Commitment

At TIG, we are working towards a sustainable future. We want to ensure that we protect our environment and do everything we can to contribute to the longevity of our precious planet.

We create uniforms that tell a brand’s story and work for their staff — with a sustainable approach to our supply chains, our processes, and our people.

Durable, purpose-made, ethically sourced uniforms are part of a sustainable fashion future where we all do our part.

We created the TIG Sustainability Commitment so we don’t forget the change we want to make in the world.

We’re committed to a sustainable future

achieved through respect for our planet and its resources.

We recognise our entire supply chain

as part of our corporate and social responsibilities.

We’re making a difference by

using an ethical supplier sourcing policy to manufacture quality products for our customers.

We show people their value

by providing a flexible environment that encourages work-life balance and bringing your whole self to work.

Sustainability heroes don’t wear capes.
They wear uniforms.

Uniforms are made tough. They’re made to last and represent your brand through every customer experience. Because we make uniforms durable and fit for purpose, there’s less turnover of staff uniforms. They stay looking good through regular wash and wear, and your staff have a reliable, consistent outfit for work. Another sustainability benefit? If your workforce are supplying their own workwear, they’re more likely to buy from fast fashion stores; landfill from cheap clothes rises every day.

Investing in a uniform for your workforce is an investment in your brand and in your own sustainability commitment. All Total Image Group uniforms are manufactured to the highest standard, and we don’t mess around when it comes to a sustainable approach. We use:

durable fabrics and interlining specifically designed for uniforms

high quality threads and stitch density for long lasting durability

third party certified laboratories to test all our fabrics and garments meet our wash, wear and durability standards.

You can have confidence that we walk the walk in our supply chain.

Supply chains beyond your own backyard

It’s not enough to do the right thing in your own backyard. Our ethical supplier sourcing policy puts every link in the supply chain in the spotlight for a transparent view of providers and manufacturers upholding highest ethical standards across labour, human rights, fair working conditions and environmental protection.

We look for suppliers that have a commitment to implementing policies and practices consistent with our own. What does that mean? We work with companies who put people first and support environmental and social sustainability.

Feelgood uniform fabrics

Durability and longevity don’t need to come with a heavy production footprint. It feels good to recycle, right? But closing the loop means choosing products that are not only sustainable, but created from recycled or repurposed materials.

Our sustainable fabric choices include:

  • REPREVE fibre made from 100% recycled plastic bottles – looks and washes like polyester
  • sustainable organic cotton – suppliers part of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) to improve global cotton production for people and the environment
  • sustainably grown and produced bamboo fabric.

We make it simple for you to choose the right sustainable option for your organisation.

LESS LANDFILL. AND PACKAGING YOU CAN COMPOST. REALLY.

We’re walking the walk. When we realised our swing tags go straight from our garments to landfill? We stopped using swing tags on all our garments. Because small actions add up to a big difference when it comes to sustainable, ethical production.

To close the loop on sustainable uniform production, we’ve partnered with Blocktexx to transform unwanted garments into usable items. The clean technology company recovers polyester and cellulose from textiles and clothing – they get a new life and don’t get added to landfill. This is particularly important for polyester and some synthetics that take hundreds of years to break down naturally.

And all TIG uniform deliveries use zero-waste, fully recyclable and photodegradable PACKS from The Better Packaging Co. Because the TIG Sustainability Commitment doesn’t stop at our door, or yours. And yes, you can add the bags to your compost bin so your garden and worms will thank you!

People-first is always sustainable

Our people-first commitment starts with creating a flexible, family-focused work environment for the TIG team. And because we have the loyalty of long-term customers, we can provide employee benefits and job security for our people and their families.

Not everything part of a sustainable approach can be measured. Sometimes it’s supporting a staffer in a charity fun run, getting behind community events that mean something to the people we care about, or working with TIG Charity Partners to make our corner of the world a little brighter.

STRONGER COMMUNITIES THROUGH EMPOWERING WOMEN

Dress for Success Sydney is an obvious choice for a TIG Charity Partner – a social enterprise created by women, for women. Our team donates extra stock to help empower women with new job interviews and working outfits – volunteering time and space for styling sessions and project organisation.

The right job interview outfit, a support network and development tools can be a path to financial independence. Where women thrive, communities thrive – and that’s the type of sustainability we love.
