Design Your Perfect Uniform Range

So you’ve decided to update your uniform design.

Perhaps you’re refreshing your current look, want to cater for the changing needs of your business, or you’re introducing a uniform for the first time and aren’t quite sure of where to start. Whatever the reason, creating a custom uniform design can feel like a daunting task, and for good reason. A uniform is more than just clothing, it’s an investment. It’s an extension of your brand, a representation of your company, and the garments that keep your staff safe, comfortable and connected.

Unforgettable first impressions start with the right uniform range, so it’s imperative that you are able to make the correct decision for your business. If you’re unsure of what your first steps should be, or what the process will look like, Total Image Group is here to help.

Read below for a guide to our comprehensive Uniform Design Journey, and how we can support you every step of the way.

Step By Step: The Uniform Design Journey

Creating a custom uniform design is about much more than just pretty colours and fabric swatches.

Uniform design is a fine art you might not notice until you need it, because great uniforms blend into a brand experience. Brand identity, staff preferences, the customer experience, and your business’ plans for the future are all important influences on the creation of an immaculate uniform range. All of these factors, and many more, are included in Total Image Group’s Uniform Design Journey, so that we can create a customised uniform range that meets your company’s unique needs.

1. The Consultation

When we start talking about what you need from your uniforms, we’ll cover a lot of ground. We want to know everything about your brand, and there might even be some lightbulb moments for you too! Here’s a few things we want to know:

  • How do you want your brand to make people feel?
  • How do your staff feel about their uniforms now?
  • What are the typical conditions and climates your people work in?
  • How are you different from your competitors?

We are all about touch and feel, we want to live your brand and understand the complexities.

When we’ve nailed down your needs, we step into fabric and design choices.

Your consultation will determine you custom uniform design needs
What do your staff need? How do you want to make your clients feel? For example. An Aged Care uniform needs to be practical, comfortable, and keep staff looking professional and trustworthy to put clients at ease

2. Uniform Design

Completely custom or an off-the-shelf solution?

Before diving into fabrics and colour swatches, you can choose between a completely customised range or a specialised uniform selected from our existing range.

  • Complete custom packages. Perfect for when you want to weave your brand story into each garment, customising gives you design freedom. From custom fabrics and bespoke brand pieces to the little details like coloured buttons and on-brand colour trim, you’re able to build a uniform that your people are proud to wear.
  • Specialised Uniform consultation. We build your brand uniform from our existing range, curating pieces with the little touches that make it your own. Total Image Group doesn’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Instead, we offer our expert, bespoke advice to ensure not only your uniform launch and roll out are a success, but the correct support and processes are in place for your business.

Custom fit for your brand, your people and your purpose

Now comes the fun part – creating your uniform. You’ll collaborate with our in-house design team, who will get up close and personal with your brand and your people to create a custom uniform that complements your brand values and aspirations.

Our in-house design team is passionate about creating the perfect uniform range. Taking into consideration elements across your brand, business, and people.

Being detail orientated while always keeping fashion top of mind we know the subtle intricacies that can elevate a simple range to something spectacular. You can still have a consistent base colour to your range and elevate it just so with a little pop of brand brightness.

Just as important as fitting your brand, your uniform needs to fit your people too – literally. You likely have a diverse staff, of varying sizes and shapes. Not everyone is going to feel comfortable in the exact same shirts and pants. We pride ourselves on being able to provide a plethora of options that will fit and flatter everybody.

We’re proud of the contemporary uniform designs that we provide to our valued retail, healthcare, hospitality, corporate and automotive clients. Our team will build you a package that meets your timeframes, budgets and specs, working as an extension of your executive team to coordinate everything from fabrics to accessories to your updated brand rollout.

3. Try

It is important that all staff have the opportunity to try on their new range prior to the official roll out, to determine size and fit. This isn’t always a straightforward process for a multi-location business. We have worked with a large number organisations with this requirement and are highly experienced with on-location fit outs.

We provide a fully equipped fitting team as well as a (very cool) TIG van that can cross the country fitting out employees! Depending on the number of employees, we offer either onsite fitting days, remote fit kits or send & return samples. For more information, visit our site.

4. Make

With your designs finished and your order finalised, we get to work on creating your uniform. Our impeccable manufacturing experts will create any custom pieces, our sales and warehousing team will get to work ordering your off-the-shelf options from our extensive list of suppliers, and our in-house embroiderers will add the finishing branded touches to your range.

5. Match

The very last step is to get your uniforms out to you and your team!

The Total Image Group warehouse management system is designed to provide all necessary information to ensure a smooth pick and pack of orders and tracking of all deliveries.
